LocalServices.in is a directory, not an agency. We help you find a genuine local electrician, plumber, photographer, tutor, purohit, ambulance or landlord — and then we get out of the way. You deal with them directly, at their price, with no cut taken by anyone in between.

Choose your city or village
Pick your place from the city selector in the header. Every page — categories, providers, jobs, rentals and the local bazaar — then shows only what is available near you. If your town is missing, add it yourself from the bottom of the city list; LocalServices.in covers all of India, not just the metros.

Search or browse a category
Use the search bar for a specific need ("emergency electrician", "wedding photographer", "purohit for griha pravesh") or browse the category grid — home services, health, events, transport, education, property and more. Category pages list every approved provider in that city with rating, review count, experience and service area.

Compare before you call
Open a provider profile to see their work photos, years of experience, the areas they cover, their current availability status (available, busy, on leave) and reviews written by earlier customers. A green Verified badge tells you an admin has checked their documents.

Contact them directly
Sign in with a free account and reveal the provider's phone, WhatsApp or email. You call them, you negotiate the price, you pay them. Nothing routes through us, so nothing is added to your bill.

Leave an honest review
After the work is done, rate the provider and describe what happened. Reviews are the single biggest reason good local businesses get more work here — and writing one unlocks 5 extra contact reveals per day for you.

Create your free listing
Register, choose your city and category, and add your business name, description, service area, working hours and price range. Listing costs nothing and there is no subscription. One account can carry up to 5 listings if you run more than one business.

Upload photos of your real work
Add gallery photos of completed jobs. Images are automatically compressed on upload so your profile loads fast even on a slow mobile connection. Profiles with real work photos get noticeably more calls than profiles without.

Get verified
Upload an identity or business document — ID proof, shop or trade licence, or GST registration. An admin reviews it manually and, if it matches your listing, switches your badge from red Unverified to green Verified. You cannot grant this to yourself, which is exactly why customers trust it.

Keep your availability current
Set your status to available, busy, on leave or unavailable from your dashboard. Customers see it on your profile, so you stop getting calls at times you cannot work and you stop losing calls when you can.

Every enquiry reaches you directly by phone, WhatsApp or email. There is no lead fee, no commission cut and no middleman renegotiating your price. What the customer agrees to pay is what you receive.
What "No broker, no commission, direct deal" actually means
In most Indian cities the person who finds you a plumber, a flat or a tempo is rarely the person who does the work. A broker sits in the middle, quotes you one price, pays the worker a lower one and keeps the difference. On a house rental that is routinely one month's rent. On repair work it is often 15–30% quietly added to your quote.
LocalServices.in removes that layer entirely. There is no lead fee charged to providers, no commission on completed work, and no escrow taking a percentage of your payment. We do not sit between you and the person you hire — you get their real number and speak to them yourself.
The same applies across the site: rentals are listed by owners, jobs are posted by the actual employer, and second-hand items in the Local Bazaar are sold by the owner. Whatever price the two of you agree on is the entire price.
How the Verified badge is earned
A badge is only worth something if the person wearing it cannot hand it to themselves. On LocalServices.in the green Verified badge can be set by an administrator only. Providers have no control over it at any point.
The process is simple: a provider uploads identity or business documents from their dashboard — an ID proof, a shop or trade licence, or a GST registration. An admin or the local admin for that city opens the submission and checks that the name, the business and the city match the public listing. If everything lines up, the badge turns green. If not, the provider is asked to re-upload.
A red Unverified badge is not an accusation — it usually just means the provider registered recently and has not sent documents yet. It is a signal to be a little more careful: check the reviews, ask for references and avoid large advance payments.
Free contact reveals, and how to get more
Provider phone numbers are hidden from signed-out visitors and from automated scrapers. This is deliberate: providers list here to get real customers, not to have their numbers harvested and resold by lead-generation companies.
Once you sign in with a free account you get 3 contact reveals per day. Opening a provider you already revealed within the last 24 hours does not count again, so you can come back to a number you saved earlier without spending a reveal.
Write one genuine review of a provider you actually hired and you unlock 5 additional reveals per day — 8 in total. Referring friends who join adds further bonus reveals. Quotas reset every day, and nothing here costs money.
Frequently asked questions
- Does LocalServices.in charge commission on a job?
- No. We never take a percentage of the work you agree on. When you call or WhatsApp a provider from this site, the price, the scope and the payment are settled between the two of you. LocalServices.in is not a party to the transaction and does not invoice either side.
- Is it free for customers?
- Yes. Searching, browsing city and category pages, reading reviews and viewing provider profiles is completely free and needs no account. You only need a free account to reveal a provider's phone, WhatsApp and email, which exists to stop bulk scraping of provider contact numbers.
- How many provider contacts can I reveal per day?
- Every signed-in user gets 3 free contact reveals per day. If you have written at least one genuine review of a provider you actually hired, you get 5 extra reveals per day, for a total of 8. Re-opening the contact details of a provider you already revealed in the last 24 hours does not use up your quota. The counter resets daily.
- What does the green Verified badge mean?
- A green Verified badge means a LocalServices.in admin has manually reviewed identity or business documents uploaded by that provider — such as an ID proof, a shop or trade licence, or a GST registration — and confirmed the business is real. Providers cannot set this badge themselves; only an admin can grant it. A red Unverified badge means the listing is live but no documents have been reviewed yet.
- Can a provider pay to appear higher in the results?
- No. Ranking on category pages is driven by rating, review count, verification status and how complete the profile is. There is no paid placement in provider listings.
- How much does it cost to list my business?
- Listing your business is free. Create an account, submit your business details, service area and photos of your work, and your listing goes live. One account can hold up to 5 provider listings.
- My city or village is not on the list. Can I still register?
- Yes. LocalServices.in covers every city, town and village in India. In the city selector, use the "Add your city or village to LocalServices.in" option at the bottom of the list, add your place, and then create your listing. You may well be the first provider there.
- How do I get the Verified badge as a provider?
- Complete your profile, then upload your identity or business documents from your provider dashboard. A local admin or a LocalServices.in admin reviews the submission. If the documents match the business name and city on your listing, the badge is switched to green. If something does not match, you are asked to re-upload.
- What is a local admin?
- Local admins are volunteers or partners who look after one city. They approve and verify provider listings for their area, remove fake or duplicate entries, and help genuine local businesses get online. You can apply from the Become a local admin page.
- How do I report a fake listing or a bad experience?
- Use the contact page and include the provider's profile link and what happened. Listings with repeated credible complaints are unverified, suspended or removed. Honest reviews on the provider's page also help the next customer.
